Storyline:
The film explores the birth of salsa in the neighborhoods of New York during the 1970s and its subsequent consolidation as a cultural symbol in Cali, the self-proclaimed “world capital of salsa.” In its narrative, over five decades of stories, anecdotes and profound transformations, La Salsa Vive shows how this genre, which lost strength in its city of origin, found a new life in Cali, where it continues to vibrate in dance schools, nightclubs, orchestras and popular neighborhoods.
